Intervista a Natasza Mirak: l'Arte tra passato e presente

In occasione della mostra internazionale HUMANITY che si terrà a Firenze dal 3 al 10 Maggio 2024 presso il Museo Bellini, conosciamo meglio gli artisti selezionati per questo evento dallo storico e critico d'arte Francesca Callipari. 

Oggi siamo lieti di presentarvi l'artista NATASHA MIRAK.

1) BENTORNATA AD ILOVEITALY NEWS, SIAMO MOLTO FELICI DI INCONTRARTI NUOVAMENTE… COME TI STAI PREPARANDO A QUESTO EVENTO E COSA TI HA SPINTO AD ACCETTARE L'INVITO DELLA CURATRICE?

Natasza Mirak: 

Sono molto entusiasta di visitare nuovamente Firenze... è la culla della pittura europea. La decisione di partecipare all'evento non è stata difficile data la reputazione della curatrice Francesca Callipari e la storia della nostra collaborazione. Sono molto felice di avere l'opportunità di lavorare con lei. Insieme a Francesca ho avuto l'opportunità di esporre la mia arte a Parigi e Milano, questi sono centri culturali e storici che mi interessano. La mia arte è direttamente collegata alla storia e alla storia dell'arte. Anche il tema della mostra "Umanità" mi riguarda direttamente perché tali questioni sono affrontate nel mio lavoro.

2) IN QUESTA OCCASIONE ESPORRAI UN CURIOSO DIPINTO DI GENERE FIGURATIVO, RAFFIGURANTE UN TENERO CAGNOLINO CHE è IN QUALCHE MODO UN OMAGGIO AL GRANDE ARTISTA JAN VAN EYCK. RACCONTACI DI PIU' DI QUESTA OPERA:

Natasza Mirak:

La bottega e lo stile di Jan Van Eyck mi ispirano e ammiro la maestosità delle sue figure e il dettaglio con cui riempiva le sue opere. Il dipinto che espongo nella mostra "Il cane di Van Eyck" è un riferimento a "L'uomo dal turbante rosso". Secondo alcuni studiosi si tratta di un autoritratto di van Eyck, e ciò sarebbe dimostrato dal fatto che il dipinto non mostra mani intente al lavoro, lo sarebbe anche l'effetto del contatto visivo con lo spettatore, risultante dal lavoro del pittore con uno specchio. 

Nel contesto dell'umanità inverto questo rapporto ponendo al centro un poco appariscente cane da divano, che per noi esseri umani è uno specchio. È posto centralmente, elevato allo status di essere umano e ci guarda dalla tela. Voglio far riflettere lo spettatore sul nostro atteggiamento nei confronti degli animali, non solo degli animali domestici, nei confronti degli animali in generale. Con lo sviluppo della civiltà si sta sviluppando anche la nostra umanità? Ho i miei dubbi.

3) HUMANITY HA COME SCOPO QUELLO DI STIMOLARE I VISITATORI A RITROVARE LE PROPRIE EMOZIONI PIU' RECONDITE, A RIFLETTERE SUI VALORI E SU QUELLA UMANITÀ CHE LENTAMENTE STIAMO PERDENDO IN UNA SOCIETÀ ALIENANTE CHE CI PORTA SEMPRE PIÙ VERSO L'INDIFFERENZA, QUALI SONO I TUOI PENSIERI A RIGUARDO? PENSI CHE L'ARTE POSSA AIUTARE QUALE STRUMENTO DI RACCOGLIMENTO INTERIORE E DI RINASCITA?

Natasza Mirak:

Spero profondamente che l'arte abbia il potere di cambiare gli atteggiamenti, influenzando le emozioni e impegnandosi in un dialogo intellettuale. Il mio lavoro ruota attorno a questi temi.

Nel mio lavoro mi interesso alle questioni relative al rapporto tra ruoli sociali e bisogni umani intimi. Il genere culturale, l'età, la religione, l'origine, la struttura familiare o sociale, la situazione geopolitica comportano aspettative specifiche con cui una persona deve confrontarsi. Nasce la necessità di prendere decisioni o passività. Credo che i miei dipinti tocchino questo momento di incertezza e indeterminazione interiore, mostrando una co-esperienza di disorientamento e premonizione, incertezza e certezza, vergogna e audacia. La dualità mi accompagna costantemente e uscire dai ruoli culturali offre l'opportunità di guardare alle conseguenze. Questi sono tutti i dilemmi umani.

4) PROSSIMI PROGETTI IN PROGRAMMA?

Natasza Mirak:

Attualmente sto preparando una mostra personale che si terrà l'11 dicembre 2024 presso la Galleria "Stalowa" di Varsavia, che mi rappresenta in Polonia.

Inoltre, quest'autunno presenterò il mio lavoro alla Fiera d'Arte di Berlino.

Today we are pleased to introduce you to the artist NATASHA MIRAK.

1) WELCOME BACK TO ILOVEITALY NEWS, WE ARE VERY HAPPY TO MEET YOU AGAIN... HOW ARE YOU PREPARING FOR THIS EVENT AND WHAT MADE YOU ACCEPT THE CURATOR'S INVITATION?

Natasza Mirak:

I am very excited to visit Florence again, it is the cradle of European painting. The decision to attend the event was not difficult because of the reputation of curator Francesca Callipari and the history of our collaboration. I am very happy to have the opportunity to work with her. Together with Francesca, I had the opportunity to exhibit my art in Paris and Milan, these are cultural and historical centers that interest me. My art directly relates to the history and history of art. The theme of the exhibition "Humanity" also directly relates to me because such issues are addressed in my work.

2) ON THIS OCCASION YOU WILL EXHIBIT A CURIOUS FIGURATIVE PAINTING, DEPICTING A CUTE DOG WHICH IS IN SOME WAY A TRIBUTE TO THE GREAT ARTIST JAN VAN EYCK. TELL US MORE ABOUT THIS WORK:

Natasza Mirak:

Jan Van Eyck's workshop and style inspire me, and I admire the stateliness of his figures and the detail with which he filled his works. The painting I'm showing in the exhibition "Van Eyck's Dog" is a reference to "The Man in the Red Turban,". According to some scholars it is a self-portrait by van Eyck, and this is supposed to be proved by the fact that the painting does not show hands busy at work, it is also indicated by the effect of making eye contact with the viewer, resulting from the painter's work with a mirror.

In the context of "humanity" I reverse this relationship by placing an inconspicuous couch dog in the central role, which is a mirror for us, humans. He is placed centrally, elevated to the status of a human being and looks at us from the canvas. I want to make the viewer reflect on our attitude to animals, not just pets, to animals in general. With the development of civilization, is our humanity also developing? I have my doubts.

3) HUMANITY HAS THE PURPOSE OF STIMULATING VISITORS TO FIND THEIR MOST INSIDE EMOTIONS, TO REFLECT ON THE VALUES AND THAT HUMANITY THAT WE ARE SLOWLY LOSING IN AN ALIENANT SOCIETY AND WHICH DRIVES US MORE AND MORE TOWARDS INDIFFERENCE, WHAT ARE YOURS THOUGHTS ABOUT IT? DO YOU THINK ART CAN HELP AS A TOOL FOR INTERNAL COLLECTION AND REBIRTH?

Natasza Mirak:

I deeply hope that art has the power to change attitudes by influencing emotions and engaging in intellectual dialogue. My work revolves around these themes.

In my work I am interested in issues of the relationship between social roles and intimate human needs.

Cultural gender, age, religion, origin, family or social structure, geopolitical situation entail specific expectations that a person is confronted with. The necessity to make decisions or passivity arises. I believe that my paintings touch on this moment of inner uncertainty and indeterminacy, showing a co-experience of disorientation and premonition, uncertainty and certainty, shame and boldness. Duality accompanies me constantly and stepping out of cultural roles provides an opportunity to look at the consequences. These are every human dilemmas.

4) NEXT SCHEDULED PROJECTS?

Natasza Mirak:

I am currently preparing for a solo exhibition to be held on 11 December 2024 at the "Stalowa" Gallery in Warsaw, which represents me in Poland.

In addition, I will be showing my work at the Art Fair in Berlin this autumn. I cordially invite you to a live meeting.
