Artista greca, nelle sue opere si concentra sulle emozioni, rivelando una spiccata capacità introspettiva che la spinge a concentrarsi sul genere del ritratto, con una peculiare attenzione alla resa dei dettagli fisionomici, primariamente i lineamenti e le espressioni del viso, nonché le pose e la gestualità dei soggetti rappresentati.

La cultura greca antica e l'arte del passato sono la sua primaria fonte di ispirazione, linfa vitale attraverso la quale l'artista elabora le più intime sensazioni, mettendo alla prova le proprie capacità tecniche. In tal senso, dal punto di vista formale mostra un linguaggio in continuo divenire, passando da sfondi bruni che rievocano gli artisti italiani del Cinquecento e del Seicento ad opere nelle quali il colore acceso prende il sopravvento, riuscendo a tradurre temi antichi in chiave assolutamente innovativa con uno stile fresco, istintivo, fortemente suggestivo.

Nell'opera qui esposta dal titolo "Athena meditating", l'artista propone una rivisitazione delle antiche raffigurazioni dell'Atena pensante, immergendola nello sfavillio di svariate sfumature di colore che le conferiscono un aspetto tridimensionale, nonostante la figura sia rappresentata di taglio come accadeva nelle stele commemorative o nelle monete. Accanto a lei, viene ritratto uno dei suoi emblemi per eccellenza, la civetta, colei che con i suoi grandi occhi aperti vede anche nella notte più buia, richiamando l'idea della saggezza e della filosofia, nonché le capacità attribuite alla dea quale protettrice delle Arti, simbolo di saggezza e strategia militare. Una dea moderna quasi pop che continua ad ammaliare l'osservatore con la sua eleganza senza tempo e quell'alone di mistero che la contraddistingue.

Un'immagine apparentemente semplice, dotata di pochi elementi ma attraverso la quale Triantafillou lascia al contempo un messaggio di grande forza a tutte le donne.

Aggeliki Triantafillou - The charm of Greek culture as a source of inspiration for the present

A Greek artist, in her works she focuses on emotions, revealing a strong introspective ability that pushes her to concentrate on the portrait genre, with a particular attention to the rendering of physiognomic details, primarily the features and facial expressions, as well as the poses and gestures of the subjects represented.

Ancient Greek culture and the art of the past are her primary source of inspiration, the lifeblood through which the artist elaborates the most intimate sensations, putting her technical skills to the test. In this sense, from a formal point of view she shows a language in continuous evolution, moving from brown backgrounds that recall the Italian artists of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries to works in which bright color takes over, managing to translate ancient themes in an absolutely innovative way with a fresh, instinctive, highly suggestive style.

In the work exhibited here entitled "Athena meditating", the artist proposes a revisitation of the ancient depictions of the thinking Athena, immersing her in the sparkle of various shades of color that give her a three-dimensional appearance, despite the figure being represented edgewise as it happened in commemorative steles or coins. Next to her, one of her emblems par excellence is portrayed, the owl, the one who with her large open eyes sees even in the darkest night, recalling the idea of ​​wisdom and philosophy, as well as the abilities attributed to the goddess as protector of the Arts, symbol of wisdom and military strategy. A modern, almost pop goddess who continues to enchant the observer with her timeless elegance and that aura of mystery that distinguishes her.

An apparently simple image, with few elements but through which Triantafillou at the same time leaves a message of great strength to all women.
